Despite his hectic personal life, Richard did not interrupt the composition of his opera Fairies. But by the summer the theater season was over and he lost permanent income. He was again financially supported by sister Rosalia, which allowed him even after the opening of the new season not to return to the work of the choirmaster, but to selflessly write the opera, which was completely completed by Christmas. With the onset of the new year, Wagner decided to return to Leipzig and achieve its production. The composer himself sums up this period of his life: “Now I became a musician, wrote a big opera and already performed something publicly, without failing. This consciousness was encouraging and flattering my kind relatives, who were convinced that my supposedly deplorable fate finally yielded some results. ”
