Böhm Georg (2 IX 1661, Hohenkirchen, Ordruf - 18 V 1733, Luneburg) - German composer and organist. He studied at Gotha (1678-84), then at Jena, in 1693-97 he lived in Hamburg; from 1698 he worked as an organist in Johanneskirche in Luneburg. Wrote org. late baroque music. Perhaps, I. S. Bach in his youth (during the years of service in Luneburg) took lessons from him; in org. Bach's writings have a tangible influence of his style.
