In January 1983, Gina went to college in the west of Los Angeles and got a job part-time. She rented an apartment in an old building on Wheatley Avenue in Hollywood. Axl kept her things with her and lived there periodically. “He knew he wanted to work in a group,” Gina said later. “He was born to become a musician - and no one else.” She loaned Axl her car when he needed to get to the rehearsal, and paid for Axl's first tattoo, the Thin Lizzy rose on her right shoulder. They were even engaged, but after another fight, which often happened, or when Gina was simply tired of supporting Axl, she threw him out into the street. So the guy often had to wander around Hollywood all night. Sometimes he spent the night with Izzy or the girls, or slept on the street: on a bench or behind trash cans.
