The dream came true in the most incredible way. In one of the salons, Liszt met Countess Adel Laprunaréde (Laprunarède; 1796–1886), the future Duchess de Fleury, a bright beauty. She had a passionate nature, had long been weary of marriage to a man much older than herself, and was looking for adventure. The handsome musician instantly turned the countess's head. And at the very end of the fall of 1832, Ferenc received an invitation to accompany Adele and her sister-in-law to the Count of Marliez in the Swiss Alps. The trip was supposed to take only a few days, but fate decreed otherwise. Having barely arrived at the place, the travelers were cut off from the world - a sudden snowfall blocked all the access roads.
