Artistic people had a great time, having started a peculiar game. Back in Bonn, the company’s “kings” on board selected the main comedian of the chapel, actor and bass singer Joseph Lux, who assigned funny posts and ranks to all “subjects”. Beethoven and his friend, cellist Bernhard Romberg, were awarded the title of “cook”. It is not known what their duties were, but apparently the cooks showed themselves so brilliantly that in the process of swimming, Lux elevated them to a higher position (it is not known exactly which one). Wegler recalled that the corresponding “diploma”, fastened with a piece of the ship's rope, for a long time, until 1796, hung on Beethoven’s wall in his Vienna dwelling, and then got lost somewhere. The diploma looked impressive and from afar it seemed like a real diploma.
