Van Halen - Good Enough

The cheerful Hungarian is considered the first representative of modern conducting art: a dizzying career already in his young years, offers from all major orchestras, numerous tours, universal veneration and fame. He did not really appreciate the painstaking work at rehearsals, but relied on the magical power of influence attributed to him and the skill of the musicians. After four years of leadership of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, he became the head of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and, at the same time, the Gewandhaus Leipzig Orchestra, and for almost three decades remained the most influential figure in German musical life. His conductor's credo: “It is necessary to achieve the interaction of so many factors: magnetism, suggestion, life experience, the ability to put oneself in the shoes of performers, the art of persuasion, even humor.”
