GWAR - First Rule Is

Bülow was born in Dresden. Learned to play the piano at the age of nine. His teacher was Friedrich Wieck, Robert Schumann's father-in-law. Encouraged by his parents, he made a feeble attempt to break with music and begin to study law. However, it seemed boring to him, and he plunged even deeper into the world of sounds, exploring different styles and forms. Despite his German origin, he possessed versatile tastes and was receptive to the music of other nations. Bulow was a progressive musician and enthusiastically defended the innovative music of Liszt and Wagner. When he heard Liszt conduct the Lohengrin in Weimar, he finally realized that his life should not be jurisprudence, but music. He made Liszt become his teacher. Soon he declared himself as a prosperous pianist, high-class virtuoso and began to travel with concerts throughout Europe.
