The Cult was a worthy English rock band of the second division, but it has existed for six years and has never missed stars from the sky. (Drummer Matt Sorum had not played Cult at the time. At the time of the tour with Guns N 'Roses, Les Warner was behind the drums at Cult.) Formed in Yorkshire in 1981, the band was called Southern Death Cult, then the name mutated in Death Cult when musicians became part of London's marginal early Gothic scene. Later, Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy changed the name to The Cult and (under the influence of Jim Morrison) expanded the theme of texts with Native American shamanism. After 1985, “She Sells Sanctuary” and “Love Removal Machine” hit the charts, and The Cult's powerful shows made them welcome guests in America, Australia and Asia. In 1987, they toured in support of their new album "Electric" and the single "Wild Flower".
