At the same time, he noted that one of the main parts of the myth of the Nibelungs could well be turned into an independent musical drama. “But slowly and timidly a decision was brewing within me to dwell on this idea, since on the practical side the production of this kind of work on the stage of the Dresden theater was positively unthinkable. It was necessary to finally be disappointed in the possibility of doing something for our theater in order to find the courage in ourselves to do this work. ” In other words, a revolution was needed.But the composer nevertheless made the first sketches for the future work.
