Breaking Benjamin - Intro

On Tuesday December 4, 1956, Elvis, along with one dancer he brought from Las Vegas, jumped into the Memphis Recording Service and caught Sam Phillips there in the midst of working with Karl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis, the money for the promotion of which came from the sale of him contract in arsi-hey. Realizing what kind of advertising move can be made from this unexpected meeting, Phillips secretly called a journalist and photographer from Memphis Press Scimitar and asked the new Sun Records star Johnny Cash to come to their studio. It was a fantastic day: Perkins played the guitar, Presley or Lewis played the piano, and four singers arranged for their producer an impromptu concert in which gospel chants, ballads and rock and roll hits were skillfully mixed. Phillips was smart enough to write long passages from him,and the concert went down in history called the Million Dollar Quartet.
