We do not know where he was and what he did, but we know that his mental state was depressed all this time. At the beginning of October 1806, Stefan von Braining informed his mutual friend Wegeler in Koblenz: “His affairs are now completely bad; his opera was rarely played due to the intrigues of ill-wishers and brought nothing to him. He is constantly in a depressed mood, and judging by his letters, the journey did not amuse him at all. ”Unfortunately, Beethoven's letters from Hradec, of which Braining mentions, were not preserved.
