Guns N 'Roses returned to Hollywood by March when they had two shows scheduled for the Sunset Strip. The first took place on March 23 at Whiskey. Before the performance, the Stormtroopers of Death cassette “What's That Noise” was played. Rowdy shouted: “GUNS N 'ROSES, MOTHER YOURS!” They started with “Reckless Life.” Soon all the musicians were already stripped to the waist. Izzy tormented her big white Gibson, wandering in the back of the stage. Axl looked almost transparent in his tight lilac leather pants and scruffy cowboy boots. Slash, drunk in the insole, played on his black Les Paul, hiding behind his hair, jamming like a demon, playing solo with ease. “It's not my damn fault it's a shitty device,” Axl complained before the band started playing “Welcome to the Jungle.” This was followed by "Nightrain", "You're Crazy", "Mu Michelle."British journalist Paul Eliot described the show as "viciousness of pure water," and called the songs "bullets from the heart of an outcast" and "anthems of the rejected."
