Disturbed - Droppin Plates (Live)

In the wonderful BBC television movie “Eroica” (2003, directed by Simon Sellan-Jones), many realities of this historic day are very carefully recreated, but there are also artistic liberties. In particular, among the guests of Prince Lobkowitz are the pompous Count Dietrichstein critical of Beethoven’s music (in fact, Moritz Dietrichstein was his fan), the Brunswick sisters Teresa and Josephine (their presence at the closed rehearsal is doubtful), as well as the old Haydn, who appears in the hall just before the final. Whether the teacher was present at the first, trial performance of the new symphony of his student, we do not know. On the other hand, the execution on June 9, 1804 was not the only one held at Lobkowitz. In the fall, a symphony was played in his Czech castles Raudnitz and Eisenberg, and in the winter of 1804/05 - again in Vienna. Therefore Haydn of coursecould attend one of these concerts. Perhaps Prince Lobkowitz invited the young Archduke Rudolph, who later became a student of Beethoven.
