Grave Digger - The Grave Dancer

In early spring 1983, Axl responded to an announcement about finding a vocalist in the local music newspaper Music Connections and soon joined Rapidfire, a new band assembled by guitarist Kevin Lawrence. One May weekend, Rapidfire performed at Gazzari's, located next to Roxy on Sunset Boulevard. It was Axl's very first concert on the boulevard. Rapidfire played covers on the Rolling Stones and other old bands, but Axl and Kevin Lawrence came up with their own material. Five songs: "Ready to Rumble", "All Night Long", "The Prowler", "On the Run" and "Closure" - were recorded on May 25, 1983 at a demo studio next to Santa Monica Boulevard. Rapidfire made some glossy promotional photos. The musicians even tried to sell these records to record labels, but could not get beyond secretaries. Axl left Rapidfire in the summer,The first group with which he recorded, and decided to focus on working with Izzy, who began to demonstrate the beginnings of serious composing talent.
