Holtz was a typical Viennese "feak" (this word, drawn from Homer's Odyssey, then meant a frivolous but charming hedonist). Cute, well-mannered, funny, witty, artistic and good-natured, Holtz was pleasantly contrasted with Schindler, who was expelled from Beethoven’s entourage in May 1824, who was either annoying or bored.
