Broken Lungs - Thrice

Franz Brunswick, apparently, accompanied his sister when she moved from Ofen to Vienna at the end of March 1806 and was present at some of the performances of Leonora renewed in An der Win (Teresa Brunswick was looking forward to hearing from him). Knowing the close friendship between Beethoven and Brunswick, it can be assumed that they could discuss among themselves even such a delicate topic as the possibility of a Beethoven alliance with Josephine. Brunswick could hardly fully approve of him, since he was well aware of the possible consequences for all interested parties, including Beethoven himself. Knowing about the later, more and more alienated attitude of Franz towards the “dissolute” sister, it can be assumed that he himself did not consider her a suitable wife for a genius friend. The most reasonable thing that Franz Brunswick could have done in such difficult circumstances- This delicately explains to Beethoven that the decision should be made by Josephine herself. She probably stubbornly avoided this, not breaking with Beethoven, but without promising him anything.
