The absence of large-scale heroes and the sharp shredding of human “material”, which history, as if amusing itself, spread in batches on the parquet floors of Viennese palaces and living rooms during the congress, forcing any genuine artist to turn his back on the flickering of colorful, but often almost caricature characters and turn to something to another - to religion, nature, eerie old traditions and colorful dreams of distant eras and countries. Therefore, after 1814, romanticism blossomed in the art of Austria and Germany. In the work of some romantics, there was a demonic "superhero" and an innocently suffering "little man", and between these poles the extremely thin material of a cozy, private, intimate being vibrated (the Biedermeier style, which got its name in the middle of the 19th century,but taking shape just after the Vienna Congress).
