One of the most striking and illustrative examples in this matter is the article of perhaps the most famous social philosopher and economist, creator of the doctrine of “scientific” socialism, Karl Heinrich Marx (1818–1883), especially since he himself belonged to the circles of the Jewish intelligentsia and expressed so to speak, an “inside look” at the problems of anti-Semitism. This article, entitled “On the Jewish Question,” was written by Marx back in 1843 and published in the journal Deutsch-Francesisch Järbücher (German-French Yearbook), in the published issue of the Yearbook, in addition to the works of Marx, including the article “On the Jewish Question”, articles by Ludwig Feuerbach, verses by Heinrich Heine, as well as articles by M. A. Bakunin were also published. Given Wagner’s revolutionary past,his personal acquaintance and warm attitude to Bakunin (Feuerbach Wagner will be interested in a little later), it can be almost completely assumed that this publication fell into his hands. And that means that by the time of writing his own article, Wagner was already familiar with Marx’s article “On the Jewish Question”.
