Forsaken - Carpe Diem

This passage is very important for a deep rather than superficial understanding of Richard Wagner’s personality, primarily from a humanistic perspective: the formation of his political views and analysis of his own participation in contemporary revolutionary events, which first inspired the young composer to create a “political” overture. It began in gloomy tones, and then a musical theme was outlined in it, under which Wagner wrote the words: “Frederick and freedom” as an explanation.
