Sentenced - Ever-Frost

Beethoven was by no means a political figure, but he certainly became a socially significant figure in the 1820s. One of the confirmations of his new status is the solemn appeal published in February 1824 to Beethoven, or, as they used to say in old times, the “address”. The text of the address was signed by thirty patrons, musicians and publishers. Among them were, in particular, the son of the late Prince Karl Likhnovsky - the historian and playwright Prince Eduard Maria Likhnovsky (1789–1845); Count Moritz Lichnovsky, Count Moritz von Fries, “musical count” of the imperial court Moritz Dietrichstein; Baron Tsmeskal; President of the Academy of Fine Arts Count Johann Rudolph von Chernin; the owner of the An der Win Theater, Count Ferdinand von Palfi-Erdöd. Of the prominent musicians, Karl Czerny, Abbot Maximilian Stadler, put their signaturesheads of the publishing houses “Artaria” and “Steiner”; prominent figures of the Vienna Society of Music Lovers; poets, writers and journalists - Ignaz von Castelli, Christoph Kuffner, as well as conductor and music critic Ignaz Franz von Moselle.
