Scorpions - No One Like You

This position at first glance may seem shocking. But Wagner simply advocates that everyone do their own thing: a baker - to bake bread, a shoemaker - to sew boots, a king - to rule the state, a poet - to write poems, a composer - to compose music, and viewers and readers (which include the baker, and the shoemaker, and the king) must pay for this music and for these poems, thereby creating the conditions for the composer and poet for further creativity. If a person of a free profession does not receive enough money from society, then he no longer has the opportunity to create for the benefit of this society. That is why, receiving large sums from the Bavarian king, Wagner did not consider himself his debtor: he was obliged to pay the composer to write brilliant works for the glory of the people and the monarch himself. Maybe,grateful descendants and can forgive the genius of such a position in life. But contemporaries did not intend to suffer at all because they were so unlucky to live simultaneously with him. Wagner, however, was not going to retreat from his life credo and was even surprised (and sometimes mortally offended) if someone was in no hurry on his own initiative to offer him "despicable metal."
