Felix Weingartner (Weingartner) (Weingartner, 1863–1942) - Austrian composer and conductor. After graduating from the Leipzig Conservatory (1883) he improved with Liszt. He made his debut as a conductor (1883) in Konigsberg, worked in Berlin (1891–1898), Munich (1898–1905). Director of the Vienna Opera (1908–1911), director of symphony concerts at the Vienna Philharmonic Society (1908–1927), director of the Vienna Opera House (1919–1924). In 1926 he made a tour to the USSR. In 1935 he again headed the Vienna State Opera, a year later he moved to Switzerland. The composer's heritage includes 12 operas, seven symphonies, four symphonic poems, violin and cello concerts, five string symphony concerts of the Vienna Philharmonic (1908–1927), director of the Vienna Folk Opera (1919–1924).
