Thirdly, to consider Belloni a cynical art dealer would be a huge mistake. He wholeheartedly was deeply and sincerely devoted to List; rather, it can be considered not a servant, but a friend (which, incidentally, was also reflected in Liszt's testament, where Belloni was called “my former secretary and friend”).
