ARPEGGIO, arpeggio (ital. Arpeggio, from arpeggiarе - to play the harp) - the performance of the sounds of the “beat” chord one after the other, like a harp. Applies preim. when playing the strings. and keyboard instruments. It is indicated by a wavy line in front of the chord and other signs: When playing keyboard instruments, all arpeggiated sounds are usually kept until the chord expires. In a very broadly set forth FP. chords in which it is impossible to take all the sounds at the same time, they are maintained using the right pedal. When playing the strings. according to their capabilities, only 2 top sounds or 1 topmost sound are maintained in the instruments. Arpegging speed is determined by the nature of the play. Currently, only arpeggiation of the chord is applied from the bottom up, starting from the lowest sound; previously used and arpegging from top to bottom:(see note examples).
