The scale is adapted to the features of mar. music (e.g., tonic-dominant accompaniment is replaced by consonance of fifths). M.-k. it is used as a solo, ensemble (e.g., in a duet with a tumyr) and an accompanying instrument. It is replaced by a two-row accordion (Koga-karmon) and button accordion.
